The 12 Hour Alcohol Education (AEP) Program  offered by InnerSourced Solutions, LLC meets State of Maryland court and MVA requirements for providing rehabilitation to individuals convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI).

You may have been assigned to the AEP for one of the following reasons:

  • You were referred by a District Court judge;

  • You were referred by an Administrative Law Judge in the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH);

  • You applied for a new driver’s license after your original license was revoked due to an alcohol-related incident.

If you are required to attend an AEP, the MVA will send you a referral letter. The letter will provide instructions for arranging a preliminary alcohol assessment and attending an alcohol education program.

What does the 12- Hour Alcohol Education (AEP) Program consist of?

InnerSourced’s AEP consists of an assessment to determine the level of care needed (according to ASAM) and six, weekly, 2 hour classes.

InnerSourced Solutions, LLC utilizes is Responsible Decisions Impaired Driving Program.  Responsible Decisions is a comprehensive curriculum for impaired driving offender intervention and education that uses evidence-based Interactive Journaling®. This program is designed to help people change their drinking and driving behaviors and consider how one can turn a negative experience into an opportunity for change.

What is the Alcohol Assessment?

According to Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration DUI/DWI laws:

“The assessment will determine if you are considered an alcohol abuser or alcohol dependent. If you are identified as either an alcohol abuser or alcohol dependent you will be required to successfully complete the longer, 26-week Alcohol Treatment Program, which incorporates the 12-hour AEP curriculum.”

At InnerSourced Solutions, LLC the DUI/DWI Alcohol Assessment consists of a meeting with one of our counselors who will conduct an interview and complete a questionnaire which will determine if you will require the DUI/DWI Classes only or the Alcohol Treatment Program.

How much does the Alcohol Education Program cost?
