MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT)
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) combines managed medication with counseling and behavioral therapies for the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. MAT is an effective and life-changing form of care that has been shown to increase retention in treatment and decrease the compulsion to engage in undesirable behaviors. MAT integrates psychiatric services to treat common co-occuring mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. Specific medications and therapeutic interventions are utilized that support individuals in developing the skills and confidence needed to succeed in his/her treatment and recovery goals.
