Charles County Resources

 

Charles County Department of Health, Behavioral Health Division: 301-609-6900

Outpatient mental health treatment and medication management for Charles County residents. Accepts Maryland Medicaid and most insurance. Ages 6 and older for therapy, 18 and older for medication management.

 

Charles County Department of Social Services: 301-392-6400

Assistance with food, housing, medical benefits, child protective services, and adult protective services. After-hours abuse reporting: 1-800-917-7383.

 

Charles County Crisis Warmline: 410-768-5522

24-hour crisis warmline serving Charles County residents. Call for crisis support, emotional assistance, and referrals.

 

Sante Southern Maryland Crisis Response: Call or text 988

Mobile crisis team serving Charles County and St. Mary's County. A trained mental health professional and peer support specialist respond in person to individuals in crisis at home or in the community. In-person response available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to midnight. Phone counselors available 24/7.

 

Center for Abused Persons (Charles County): 301-645-3336

The only 24-hour, seven-day-a-week crisis hotline in Charles County for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Provides emotional support, shelter referrals, and advocacy.

 

Southern Maryland Community Network: 301-843-0081

Behavioral health services including housing support and community resources. Serving Southern Maryland since 1981. Accepts Maryland Medicaid.

 

Charles County Local Behavioral Health Authority (LBHA): 301-609-5757

Plans and monitors behavioral health services for Charles County. Contact for information on available public mental health programs and resources.
